Outdoor skills are critical to the success of the Scouting program, and Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills (IOLS) will provide Scout BSA leaders with the basic outdoor skills information needed to start a program right.
Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills is the required outdoor training for all Scoutmasters, assistant Scoutmasters, and other adult leaders. The skills taught are based on the outdoor skills found in The Scout BSA Handbook. The course focuses on skills that build confidence and competence in leaders conducting outdoor camping experiences.

Course will end Sunday, 3/9/25, 1:00 pm
Cost: $40.00 per person. This includes meals throughout the course.
Registration and payment deadline: March 4th, 2025
Who should attend: Registered Scout BSA leaders who participate with their unit’s outdoor program.
What to bring: Tent, Lanterns, Scout Uniform, Activity Clothing, Personal Camping Gear, Water Bottle, Cook Kit or plate and eating utensils, Warm Clothing, Scout BSA Handbook, Compass, Pencil & Paper, BSA Medical Form, Camp Chair, a coffee mug and/or drinking cup.
Online Training: You should complete the online version of Scoutmaster-Specific Training by logging in to My.Scouting.org prior to this course.
